Paper Street View is a social activity designed for older people living with dementia in care environments. The artefact centres on an annotated paper map, used as a shared surface around which residents and staff can gather to explore and discuss places of personal significance. The work responds to the strong emotional connections many participants had to particular locations from their lives. Rather than presenting images or stories passively, the activity encourages active exploration and conversation through handling, pointing, and discussion around the map. This approach was intended to support more engaged, social forms of interaction, allowing residents and staff to share experiences of the local area in a relaxed, collective setting.
